BAIS City is located along the coast of Tanon Strait-a body of water that lies between the island of Negros and Cebu. The city is perfect place in the Philippines to go DOLPHIN WATCHING. Butandings (whale sharks) have been seen in these waters too, together with the rare leatherback turtles.

Dolphin watching in BAIS CITY started to gain popularity only a few years ago and every year, it doubles the growth in number of tourist arrivals in the city. The best months to go dolphin watching in BAIS are from MARCH – OCTOBER. Tourist are not allowed to swim with the dolphins.  Since being wild animals, behavior of dolphins are very unpredictable.

Bais City is 45 kilometers (approximately one hour travel time by all type vehicles) north of Dumaguete City.

The tours begin at Capinahan Wharf but since I have a friend who owns a resort in Manjuyod we stayed in the resort and take advantage the free tour to see the dolphins and the sandbar.
